“IT” can be anything from EZ payment for supplements, electronic bank payment/deductions, doctors billing the wrong insurance company, credit card statement discrepancy, whatever. You have to stay on top of everything these days. In order to be more “green” one of my business partners requested that I have direct deposit for their payments. Now, I have to search my bank statement for their payment. This month the finance charge on my credit card went sky high and I finally noticed my supplement company was overcharging me for months. Yeek! If I fall asleep at the wheel for just a month things could really fall through the cracks and get lost indefinitely. Even my dating service is charging me for 3 months when I signed up for only one month. It took me 2 hours to locate a phone number for them. Boy, are they sneaky.
When I called my CC company to see what they could do for me, I had a difficult time understanding the gentleman on the other end of the phone. Two reasons, one I cannot hear that great, the other reason he speaks with an accent (How is everything in Mumbai today?) Nice guy though, very patient. I decided to repeat everything he told me to make sure I understood correctly all the terms and conditions.
I still think it’s August instead of September so I almost forgot to pay my bills. Trying to get a jump on a health care payment, I paid three months in advance. Unfortunately, the company cannot register 3 advanced months so I receive a monthly late payment/cancellation letter that I have to follow up on.
Is life getting more difficult? Am I slowing down?
I’m only 65 and a half and struggling with this stuff already. What will happen when I am 75? Will I have to hire a 40 year old on retainer or will someone start a service to help people like me?
